John R. Samples, M.D. Dr. Samples’ education includes undergraduate degrees in psychology and biology from Stanford University, a Masters from Stanford University in biology (neurobiology) and an M.D.from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He did his residency at the Mayo Clinic. He completed a fellowship in cornea and external disease with Perry Binder, M.D. and in glaucoma at OHSU. He joined the faculty at OHSU in 1984 and progressed up the ranks to Professor and Director of the Glaucoma Service in 1994.
